Fires small arms weapons at fixed targets to test accuracy of
sights and mcehanical functions of weapons: Positions target at
specified distance. Mounts weapon on tripod, or mechanical rest.
Aims weaopn and fires series of shots at target. Examines target
to determine shot pattern and accuracy of sihgt. Adjusts sights
to attain specified accuracy, using handtools. Examines
indentations on cartridge face to detcet defective striking of
firing pin.
Records firnig deficiencies on target or tag, and
routes gun to repair shop.
